Fr. Sylvester is from the congregation of the Missionaries of Africa; also commonly known as the white fathers from which we were blessed with the first five missionaries (In Uganda) among them are servants of God Fr. Simeon Mapeera and Br. Amans that evangelized St. Charles Lwanga and his companions.
Fr. Sylvester originates from the catholic diocese of Ndola, Zambia and has been serving Nyakato catholic Parish of the archdiocese of Mwanza in Tanzania for the last three years.
Following a tradition of the Missionary of Africa that one should learn the language of the local community in a period not more than three months, Father is currently learning Luganda and God willing will soon be celebrating his first Luganda Mass, all thanks to the hospitality of our Christians of Masaka.
