ST. MUKASA KIRIWAWANVU

He was a Muganda, born between 1861 and 1866 at Nakasawula in Kyaggwe County and as Kabaka Mwanga’s page his task was to help serving food to the guests.

He was also a great wrestler, powerful with long limbs taking the physic of his father who was an athlete and sport personality.

He was the only one martyr who received the baptism of blood since; he was already in prison for striking one of the Christians (Gyaviira) who called him “Magulumpaali” (long legged)

He was burned on the 3rd of June 1886 in Namugongo after reconciling and forging themselves with Gyaviira. He died at the age of between twenty to twenty six years.

ST. MUKASA KIRIWAWANVU IS THE PATRON OF HOTELS, BARS AND RESTAURANTS.
